Fatherless Father’s Day ~ A fight for equal parental rights

Work shoes and boots placed outside of the Manatee Judicial Center represented fathers who have not been allowed to be present in their children's lives. Inside was placed a letter telling the fathers story, during the Fatherless Father's Day rally on Friday in Bradenton. The event, organized by The Florida Fathers' Rights Movement, was to draw attention to the need of equal sharing of children between the parents when they are no longer together.Fatherless Father’s Day rally in Bradenton fights for Equal Parental Rights | Bradenton Herald

Black leather boots and brown hiking sneakers sit under the gazebo outside of the Manatee County Courthouse, waiting for a new home. Not another person’s feet, but on the steps of the courthouse itself.

Gary, who is with Why Dads Matter, said shoes on the courthouse represent familial alienation caused by the family court system. The group is fighting for mothers and fathers to been seen equally in the courts.

Why Dads Matter partnered with Kids Need Both for a “Fatherless Father’s Day” rally Friday, just in time for Father’s Day. Stephen Miller makes a poster with his son, Jackson, 2, as they attend the Fatherless Father's Day rally outside of the Manatee Judicial Center on Friday in Bradenton. The event, organized by The Florida Fathers' Rights Movement, was to draw attention to the need of equal sharing of children between the parents when they are no longer together.About 14 adults and three children at the event held signs saying “Honk 4 Dads” or “Let Dad’s have their children” and speaking out against Child Protective Services.

A former foster child said he was locked in his room; a mother said her daughter was taken away from her without a criminal charge; Gary, who didn’t give his last name, said he hasn’t seen his son in four years even though they live in the same city.

Danica Joan Fields, executive director of Kids Need Both, said she wants to fight any unkind view of parents in high-conflict families.Shayne Downs's photo.

“Family looks different to everybody,” she said, noting mother-father, grandparents and same-sex couples can be affected, “but the goal is that the child not have an unkind view of one or both of the family.”

She speaks from experience. Having gone through her own custody battle, Fields said she was made to look like an unfit mother. More than five years later, she shares half custody of her five sons and has blended family gatherings in harmony.

“It’s the way it should be,” she said.

Brenda and Daniel Blue Jr. traveled from Lancaster, Texas, to support the cause. The Blues said in their experience, CPS agents lied and put their children in the system for money. When they caught on, they started recording CPS visits.

Shayne Downs's photo. The couple sent a letter to President Barack Obama on Aug. 12, 2011, detailing 23 adjustments they wanted for CPS. Some requests included ending bonuses paid to each CPS worker for a child removed from a home or adopted through the foster care system, no removal of children from the home without hard evidence and eliminating anonymous accusers.

“The pattern is the same: ‘Get the kids,’” said Raquel Okyay, state director of GovAbuse.

Okyay said she was a victim of CPS and has been investigating them ever since.

Gary said that in his eyes, the courts push families until someone — a parent or child — snaps, then the blame is put on the parent.

Child support needs to catch up to reflect new roles for fathers, say experts

How ‘deadbeats’ can still be good dads – The Boston Globe

ONE KIND OF FAMILY is the one in an old greeting-card picture: two parents, one or more kids, all under one roof.

But another kind of family has become more and more common over the last several decades. We tend to call it “single parenting,” but it is really better described as an unmarried mother and father living apart, their children, and the government whose laws regulate their relationship.

That set of laws is the child-support system, and it covers 17 million American children—about a quarter of them. But that system is nearly 40 years old, established during a different economy, and built on an old model where the mother was the caretaker and the father simply brought home the bacon. Today, a group of critics is saying the system needs an update, not only to be fair to adults but to avoid hurting the children whose interests it is supposed to serve.

These critics are particularly focused on the role of fathers, who make up the vast majority of noncustodial parents. Fathers are overwhelmingly the target of the current system’s narrow focus on collection and enforcement. And for middle-class and high-income men, it may make sense to require simply that they pay up or else.

Being the queen of generalizations I am going out on a ledge. But hear me out. Even one of the columbine shooters was treated with an anxiety medication. Maybe we should see why the rates of asperger’s and autism are increasing? Maybe it could be as simple as the food we eat.(over processed). I say more love and understanding and having 2 parents would fix this sooner than gun legislation~Jan

As an advocate for fathers against family court’s anti-father rulings. They unintentionally obscure the real tyranny that fathers face. Their pleas and actions play into complex morass that family court and its benefactors use as a smokescreen to cover its tyranny.

The family court is a far cry from its original version during our nation’s first century. Then, societal values made divorce and out-of-wedlock children rare. Fathers and mothers were held responsible for contracted obligations but not denied their parental rights and benefits. Society recognized both the fundamental rights of individuals and the importance of preserving the family because of the natural protection and incentives it afforded to its members – and to freedom from government intrusion into the family.

But the family court has, now, long been perverted into the family destruction business. It does so by denying fit fathers their parental rights to their own children – the…

Father forced into poverty because of child support

Testimony from another father about how he was destroyed and forced into poverty because of the child support collection system in Canada. Many fathers in Canada are destroyed as a result of Canada’s biased and unlawful child support system. Many custodial parents who are unable pay for their own children are given welfare by the government and are allowed to go on to have more children and are given more welfare, yet non custodial fathers who are unable to pay are given jail time.

A detailed analysis which clearly shows how Canada’s child support system is flawed can be viewed at the following link:

A discussion forum on the topic of the FRO and Canada’s Child support system can be found here.

Just hearing the words child support sparks an emotional response. Fathers who feel like the rules are more about the paycheck than the parenting, mothers who say they cant live on what they have.

In general, the perception is, its unfairly biased against men in the state of Massachusetts, says John Ollen of Marthas Vineyard.

Francis Roy's Blog

This is why we need men’s rights.

Every year, thousands of young fathers (sometimes moms as well) are destroyed and forced into poverty because of the draconian family courts and government collection agencies which relentlessly hunt down non-custodial parents until they are destroyed.

The amounts of child support reflected in Canada’s Child Support Tables has been proven to be a violation of basic human rights and based on fraud when they were produced.

Sadly, the testimony of this father is just the tip of a much more serious problem in Canada involving the family courts and child support collection agencies.

As the justice system in Canada destroys more and more of its own citizens, it will only be a matter of time until Canada will fall to its knees as a result of social upheaval these branches of government are causing.

Canada cannot be a strong and free country when…
